We celebrated Welsh speaking by learning a Welsh song, doing some mindful Welsh word colouring and playing Welsh yard games. We had a fun day!

Today we enjoyed learning the song, ‘Shwmae, Shwmae’, colouring Welsh pictures and wearing our Welsh colours for ‘Shwmae Shwmae Day.’

We have been very busy learning a new Welsh song and trying really hard at colouring in the Welsh Flag.

We have been doing some folk dancing, singing folk and pop songs, playing games, listening to music and colouring!

Year 2 and 3 enjoyed celebrating Shwmae Shwmae day! We looked at Welsh singers and started learning the Welsh National Anthem, we drew pictures of Welsh landmarks, played some Welsh yard games, and Welsh Bingo!

Wellbeing Day\Diwrnod Lles
We have had a wonderful morning of wellbeing activities. The children have loved developing their circus skills, painting symmetrical butterflies, modelling with playdough, playing games and baking cupcakes!

Cnoc-y-coed spoke beautifully in church sharing their ‘Thankful for:’ posters as part of a class prayer.

This week we have been thinking about who the refugees are…who are the individuals going through this experience?
The pupils ‘met’ a mother, with her child, who’d had to flee her home country and arrived in the UK. They ‘heard her thoughts’. From this the pupils thought about what would need to happen if they were in a job where they met refugees who had just arrived by whatever means possible. They decided they would need to collect data about them, to be able to know; who they are, what they need now and to be able to help them going forward.
Everyone had a go at creating a form to collect this data, then as a class we looked at the most efficient way to create one.
