Buddhism – Creating Mandalas

In Aderyn Du we have been learning about the religion Buddhism and how Mandalas are a circular figure representing the universe in Buddhist Symbolism. We drew our own designs in class and went outside to create Mandalas using natural materials we could find in the school grounds.

Forest School

We had a super Forest School session yesterday. Pupils were invited to build shelters and they really developed their problem solving and team building skills. Da iawn Pawb!

Instructions/Cyfarwyddiadau

This week we are learning about instructions. We used our listening and reading skills to follow instructions to make a snake bookmark. We discussed the features of instructions and used the photographs to help us.

Pyjama Drama

In Pyjama Drama we listened to the story of ‘The Cat in the Hat’ and then we acted parts of the story. After the session we enjoyed some parachute games.

A place of Sanctuary

During Assembly on Monday we celebrated being appraised as a School of Sanctuary. Members of the appraisal team commented “It was such a pleasure to spend time with your pupils and hear about their learning. They are an absolute credit to you and clearly demonstrate what a warm and welcoming place Knighton School is”. They also added “Pupil voice in school is clearly very well embedded through your variety of councils and they feel empowered to make changes.” We are all very proud.
