We had a lovely sports day this year, where the Year 5 and 6 children planned a variety of events based on their work on the Olympics. Congratulations to the Purple Team ‘2024 Cup Winners’.
Over the past few weeks, we have enjoyed some sessions with Chris Andrew from Project Touchline learning about the key value of respect and how that is represented in sports in particular rugby. We also created some pieces of Artwork representing what we have learnt throughout the project.
Pupils in year 5/6 competed in the cluster Netball tournament. Everyone enjoyed learning all about the game and showed great sportsmanship and teamwork through the tournament.
Children in Year 2 and 3 were really excited to be chosen by our Sports Council Ambassadors to be involved in their lunchtime sports club. They enjoyed a range of games aimed at improving their balance and co-ordination.
We thoroughly enjoyed our sports afternoon on Wednesday! The children in Y5 and Y6 organised the event themselves. The ice-creams were a real treat- thank you to Friends of School for providing the funds to buy them!
Our Y5 Bronze Sports Ambassadors took part in an online ‘Including Everyone’ Teams training session last half term. This training looked at inclusion within sport and why it is so important for everyone to be able to participate in sports within school and outside of school.
