Zumba!!!
Cogurdd 2023
Urdd members in year 5/6 were given the opportunity to compete in the school round of this years Cogurdd competition, with the task being to create a salad of their choice in 45 minutes. 14 members participated this year and all really enjoyed the challenge of making their own salads using many different skills in the process. Mrs. Layton had the difficult task of blind judging the top 3, with the winner going through to represent Knighton at the regional round. Music with Mr. Burrows
We have enjoyed having Mr. Burrows coming in to teach us some music and helping us to create our own musical pieces. We learnt all about programmatic music and were shown how to create our own musical pieces with the theme of ‘A journey through space’. After learning how to play different instruments and keeping to beat and rhythm, we designed our own journey through space pieces and performed them to the class!
Netball tournament
Pupils in year 5/6 competed in the cluster Netball tournament. Everyone enjoyed learning all about the game and showed great sportsmanship and teamwork through the tournament.
Dinosaur homework
Pupils in Aderyn Du were given some homework to create a dinosaur made out of recycled materials, and to follow a recipe to make their own dinosaur poo! All the children created some fantastic finished products and enjoyed showing them to the rest of the class.
Bird shelter challenge
We were given the tricky challenge of designing and creating a bird shelter made entirely out of lollipop sticks!
